The Curriculum
Each session starts with 2 1/2 hours of in-depth learning, dialogue and break-out sessions
led by outstanding experts. A networking reception and dinner will follow. Ten or more
of our “Leadership Connectors” will attend each dinner, providing a unique opportunity
for people new to Chicago to meet some of Chicago’s top leaders.
Session 1
"Chicago: The City that Works" will explore the history and events
that have shaped Chicago, Chicago’s economic forces, the city’s vast
resources and the people and institutions that have shaped the city.
Session 2
"Chicago's Human Service Architecture" will describe the
education, healthcare, public safety, employment and other social welfare
institutions, revealing their strengths and challenges.
Session 3
"Living Together in Chicago" will describe Chicago’s people,
where they live and the challenges of living together. The session will cover
immigration patterns, settlement, population groups, neighborhoods and
suburbs, and race and ethnic relations.
Session 4
"Chicago Leadership Connection" will explore avenues for
leadership participation in the arts, human services, education, philanthropy
and other civic and community opportunities.
