About Leadership Connect
Program Goals
Leadership Connect introduces newly transferred executives to Chicago’s history, assets and challenges, and the individuals
and institutions that lead Chicago’s business, civic and cultural communities. Adapted from Leadership Greater Chicago’s
intensive year-long Fellows program for rising leaders in the business, government and nonprofit sectors, Leadership Connect
gives participants a jumpstart as they integrate into Chicago’s rich business, civic and cultural life.
Who Should Apply
Leadership Connect is tailored for senior level executives who have moved to the Chicago area within the past two years.
Leaders from public and private companies, professional firms, government and nonprofit organizations will benefit from the
program. Applicants should have a strong desire to learn about the resources and challenges facing the Chicago area, become
actively engaged in the community and get on a civic leadership track.
Spouses of participating executives are invited and encouraged to participate in the program.
Learn about Chicago, Meet Key Leaders, Connect with the Community
Leadership Connect gives newly arrived executives a jumpstart as they
integrate into Chicago’s rich business, civic and cultural life. In four engaging
sessions, executives become immersed in the people and institutions of
Chicago. They get an insiders’ look at what makes Chicago work. And they
meet the people who make Chicago work.
Insight: Participants will learn from outstanding experts about the Chicago
area’s people, places, resources, challenges and opportunities.
Access: Participants will have the opportunity to meet in a small setting
with approximately 40 area leaders from a wide variety of business and
civic sectors.
Connection: Participants will establish a network of peers from local
businesses and institutions. And participants will develop powerful
relationships that will pave the way for effective community and civic
involvement.
By the end of the fourth session, Leadership Connect participants will
be educated, connected and motivated to become actively engaged in
the community.
